Shiba Inu cafe in Tokyo Review

When in Tokyo, going to an animal cafe is a must-do. One of Tokyo’s most popular animal cafes is the Shiba Inu cafe! While I was studying abroad in Tokyo, since I have always loved Shiba Inus, I decided to go check out the Shiba Inu cafe in Tokyo, called Harajuku Mame Shiba Cafe.

Since it’s a popular spot for both locals and tourists, there is a long wait time to get in. It was 900 Yen for 30 minutes in the cafe, and the ticket includes a drink. The drink is barely a real cup of coffee as it was just a cup of coffee from a vending machine. It was very mediocre and bland.

The dogs themselves are cute, but they aren’t interested in playing or cuddling, and while I was there, I witnessed a fight between the dogs. The dogs seemed pretty tense since there are constantly so many people in the one room trying to get the dog’s attention.

I personally wouldn’t recommend spending your time at Shiba Inu cafe in Tokyo. If you want actually want to go to a fun and more interactive animal cafe, check out the mini pig cafe or a cat cafe!
