There are so many different Cat cafes in Tokyo and Cat Cafe Temari no Ouchi is one of the best cat cafes in Tokyo! Temari no Ouchi is in Kichijoji, a cozy local neighborhood. Kichijouji has many different activities and food to try! While you are there be sure to check out my all time favorite Ghibli cream puff! If you like themed cafes, check out my blog post, Ranking the themed cafes in Tokyo I been to, and if animal cafes are your thing, visit the Pig Cafe, Owl Cafe, or Hedgehog Cafe!
The entrance to the Cat Cafe Temari was so pretty. It is just a 5-minute walk from the Chūō Line’s Kichijōji Station. It’s further away from the major tourist parts of Tokyo, and is noticeably quieter.
Once you go through the entrance and check in, they have instructions in both Japanese and English for you to follow. Once you pay the initial fee, (Weekdays: 1,400 yen and 1,000 yen after 19:00. Weekends: 1,800 yen and 1200 yen past 19:00) there is no time limit. You are free to stay at the cafe for as long as you want. It’s one of the few animal cafes that doesn’t charge people per half hour or hour. More info about prices.
The interior is beautiful and feels like you entered something like a Ghibli movie. It’s super cozy and a very relaxed atmosphere. It’s very large and there are many areas where we can walk around and find cats. Very conveniently, there is also free wifi here.
Once you check and get seated, they will give you a menu. You don’t need to order anything if you do not want anything. They have many options to choose from. They have drinks like coffee, lattes, teas, soda, alcohol, and even side menus like fish and chips, onion rings and fries and popcorn chicken, sausages, garlic bread, as well as sweets like tarts and cakes! The Full Menu can be found here.
The cats get pats all day so they are not interested in much attention. Some are a little curious and will come to you if you are lucky! The cats are in great condition and very calm, not stressed at all. If you want more love from the cats, buy cat snacks that are limited in quantity. Wet cat food for 340 yen and dry cat snack for 280 yen. The collars that some cat wear are not only for cuteness but a way to let us know not to feed the ones who have them on!
All around the cafe, there are toys you can use to play with the cats. They also have feeding time between 18:00 and 19:00 there is a meal time for the cats in the store all eating together. This is definitely something you wouldn’t want to miss!
